2011 Accomplishments
Well here we go, the start of a new season. This year began in Jackson LA. for the Amite River HRC hunt test. We ran 4 finished test, 2 started and 2 seasoned. Perry and Stella both did a great job running finished on back to back days. Bo and Hannah both ran their first hunt test running started on Saturday and seasoned on Sunday. Both did a nice job. Congrats to Hannah and Patti for doing so well on their first ever seasoned test.
8 test 8 passes.

Next stop was Central Kentucky for an AKC event. We ran 2 Master dogs and 2 senior dogs. Stella was awesome on a very technical Master. Bo and Hannah did great on both Sat. and Sun. to grab a pair of senior passes each. This was another first for team Patti/ Hannah and they are looking good.
6 test 5 passes.

Next up was the Ohio Valley AKC test. Stella was on her game again passing both test in the double master. Bo and Hannah are looking very solid as they each earn another senior Pass.
4 test 4 passes.

This time it was a one day trip to Canada for the Essex HRC spring hunt test. Perry and Ely killed it in the finished test. Bo and Hannah did another great job in seasoned.
4 test 4 passes.

A little change of pace as we went to the Flat River spring field trial. We ran 2 derby dogs. Patti and Hannah made it to the second series where the LONG memory bird got the best of her. She was only 20 yards away from it when it went in the crapper. For a dog that had just celebrated her first birthday she did a very nice job. Stella did a great job bringing home a third place ribbon.
2 entries 1 third place ribbon

A wet and cold weekend at the Great Lakes spring hunt was next for us. It proved to be a great trip despite the weather. We ran 6 finished test and 4 seasoned test. Perry and Stella both earned their Hunting Retriever Champion title. Hannah earned her Hunting Retriever title and Bo is just one pass away from his HR title.
10 tests 9 passes

Back to the Wolverine Field Trial for another derby. (5/20) We gave Stella another derby run to prove herself and she was awesome taking home a blue ribbon.
1 entry 1 blue ribbon

The very next day we found our way over to Omega farms for Michigan Flyways AKC hunt test. WE were once again very proud of the crew. Stella and Ely each earned another master pass while Bo and Hannah each passed two senior test. The passes for Bo and Hannah meat that each earned their Senior Hunter Title.
6 test 6 passes

Back to our quest for Master National Qualifying. We made our way to Horicon WI. and Ely and Stella both cruised through a Master test.
2 test 2 passes

On June 3 we took Stella to Pa to run a 34 dog derby. 7 Dogs finished and she was one of them earning a JAM. She ran a very nice trial but put a bit of a hunt on her go bird in the fourth.
 1 Entry 1 green ribbon

Another GREAT weekend was had at the Midwest hunt test in Illinois. (June 25/26)  Ely passed his 12th Master test in a row and Stella made it six straight for her Master title. Not bad for a dog that just turned 2 years old 6 days ago. Both dogs are now qualified for the 2011 Master Nationals.
2 Test 2 Passes

Well we decided to try the white coat stuff again. We brought Hannah and Bo along for the double Derby ( Wolverine/ Maumee 8/5 & 8/6) and both did fairly well. Niether dog finished but we saw some really nice work. In fact Hannah was looking Really good in the first derby before she became a little land eye dominate in the 4th. Pretty good stuff for Pattie and Hannah. Stella was along for the double Q and made it to the water blind each day. It was a bad decision on my part not to scratch her as we were working through a bit of an issue on water blinds. On a positive note our little Gus puppy ran the puppy stakes. He won the 9 to 12 month old stake and he had just turned 7 months old.

Another trip to the Grand in September. Along for the fun was Ely, Stella, Perry and Coach. Coach was excused in the first for getting a little to excited. Ely for the first time ever in a test broke in the third. Stella was penciled out in the third and I have no idea why. Perry made it all the way to the fifth and just couldnt find the hen pheasant to complete the upland. This is a hard entry for me as I left Canada feeling sad, mad, embarassed and really feeling like I let Perry down. Again this is the hardest entry yet. I am on a mission now. This is a very hard test to pass but we expect better and WILL do better if it kills me.

Off to the Master Nationals. We brought Ely, Stella and Ransome. It was a really nice series of tough test. Ransome had a bit of trouble and didnt make it through. Ely and Stella were amazing and ran the whole test clean. It was great to have Pattie along this year as well as my good friend Ben and his dog Shelby. I truly belive that if I could have watched every amature trained and handled dog run that none of them ran better than Ben and Shelby. Some maybe as well but none better.
